Jake's Angling Life:
At 13 years old I began fishing, initially just for fun with friends from school and my Grandad who would take me during school holidays but this quickly headed towards match fishing and after winning the local winter league on the Bridgewater Canal at the first attempt I began competing at national level within the Warrington Anglers setup. Starting as a junior and intermediate (during which time I won both individual and team honours in various events). As I got older I began working in my local tackle shop, learning from a lot of local anglers and adding some variation to my fishing by visiting a number of different venues both natural and commercial, I won my first club series with the infamous S.H.A.G Club at the age of 15 and competed in my first Division One national aged 16. Following a short break during my university years when football took priority over fishing, apart from the occasional match through summer I picked things back up once I started full-time employment. At 23 I began working across angling publications Match Fishing and Pole Fishing magazines and after three and a half succesful years took the role of Sonubaits Media Coordinator with Preston Innovations. I like to keep my fishing varied and class myself as an all-rounder with much of my fishing throughout the year taking place on natural venues in team events, however, over the last couple of years more emphasis has been placed on commercial venues, festivals, leagues and big-money qualifiers.
Angling Ambition: To keep improving on a mixture of venues deploying a range of different tactics.
